I am a conceptual sculptor and multidisciplinary artist living and working in the UK. My practice is research-driven and rooted in narrative, with concept, material and process developing together through iteration and experimentation. Each project determines its medium, allowing physical form to emerge from the idea. Surveillance and the omnipresent eye, which I first explored over twenty years ago, continue to inform my practice. In The Fall series and 12° OVUM, these concerns are considered through Christian narratives, shifting the focus from contemporary surveillance towards the theological notion of divine omnipresence and humanity existing beneath an ever-present gaze. The form of the egg also recurs throughout my practice. Initially emerging almost subconsciously, its tactile quality, simplicity of form and continuous, unbroken line established an instinctive visual presence within my work. Over time, the egg has developed from a recurring form into a conscious element of my sculptural language which I continue to explore and develop.
