Metallic crayon
43.5 x 55 x 1.5 cm
2005
I paint mostly in oils and draw in colour and monochrome. In 2010 - 2013 I studied Classical Realism in Florence, learning how to create forms that appear three-dimensional and are drawn with a high level of measured accuracy which contributes to the work’s Realist qualities.
Now I look at work that came before this time and see emotion and a freedom of belief in where 'things' will take me. The certainty and vigour of these earlier works are qualities that I must reconnect with, I must find how. After 2+ years of cancer - I must work at this.
