Margaret O’Hare - Moses Descending Mount Sinai

£9,500.00

Oil on canvas
105 x 95 x 4 cm
2026

Margaret O’Hare is a classically trained painter based in London. Specializing in portraiture, she works exclusively from life, using the sight-size method to study the relationships of form, color, and light. Having trained for four years at Charles H. Cecil Studios in Florence, O’Hare’s practice draws on the techniques and materials of the Old Masters, combining a traditional limited palette with sustained observation. Through the slow, attentive process of painting from life, she seeks to capture the particular qualities of each sitter, allowing likeness to emerge through careful study. O’Hare teaches drawing and painting at Charles H. Cecil Studios. Her work has been exhibited in Florence and London, and her painting Rominha with a Red Earring was selected for the 2026 Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer Award at London’s National Portrait Gallery.
