Egg tempera with natural pigment
56 x 40 x 4 cm
2025
I practice the sacred art of iconography as an act of prayer and preservation, following the unbroken tradition established two millennia ago.
Every icon begins with nature's raw elements. I hand-grind natural mineral pigments and combine them with egg tempera, bringing the earth itself into the service of the divine. Guided by ancient methods, I apply pure 23.5-karat gold leaf—its uncreated, unblemished light serving as a window into the heavenly realm.
Through fastidious craftsmanship, I depict saints and sacred figures, but my true focus is to paint the invisible: the unseen, eternal truths that reside beyond physical vision. An icon is not merely a portrait, but a silent portal where material and spirit unite, inviting the soul into contemplation. By keeping these holy, centuries-old traditions alive, I create timeless sacred art designed to carry faith and devotion across generations.
