My artistic practice is rooted in figurative painting and classical techniques, combining academic drawing, traditional oil painting, and contemporary themes. I am interested in the human figure as a universal language through which questions of identity, memory, connection, vulnerability, and human existence can be explored. I work with a strong emphasis on observation, anatomy, light, materiality, and the expressive potential of the painted surface. At the same time, I often remove or obscure individual identity, allowing the figure to move beyond portraiture and become a more universal symbol. My works frequently create a tension between the familiar and the mysterious, the physical and the psychological, intimacy and distance. Through carefully constructed compositions, dramatic contrasts, and a reduced visual language, I seek to create images that remain open to interpretation and invite the viewer into a space of contemplation. My practice is grounded in the discipline of classical painting, while continuously searching for contemporary ways to speak about the human condition.
