My photographic practice explores moments in which the ordinary and profound meet. I'm interested in quiet gestures, rituals and encounters that reveal something about our relationship with one another, with the body, and with the unseen.
Photography allows me to observe moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed, creating space to consider vulnerability, belief, mortality and the human desire for meaning. I'm drawn to environments where knowledge, science and human skill coexist with uncertainty, intuition and faith. Within these spaces, I look for gestures that can carry significance beyond the immediate moment.
My work often begins with observation rather than a predetermined narrative. I am interested in allowing ambiguity to remain, inviting the viewer to bring their own experiences and beliefs to the image. I use the photographic frame to isolate and emphasise small moments, sometimes presenting them as a sequence or triptych so relationships between images create an additional layer of meaning.
At the heart of my practice is an interest in human vulnerability and resilience, and in the ways we seek reassurance, connection and transcendence. Through photography, I hope to create contemplative images that encourage the viewer to pause, and consider what lies beyond what can be immediately seen.
