Graphite and charcoal on paper
62 x 74 x 3 cm
2025
I am a fine artist currently living near the North Devon coast where I have painted and exhibited landscapes, seascapes and details of old buildings in both watercolour and acrylic.
A few years ago, I returned to the discipline of rendering the human form in charcoal and graphite, a subject and medium which first drew me to art many years ago and which fascinates me beyond all others. I aim to capture the form, shapes and detail of the human figure in a way that shows strength, vulnerability, sometimes drama, and sometimes a little bit of softness. In doing so I hope to find the subject’s unique animating spark of character and soul, and translate at least some of that depth onto paper.
