I am a contemporary painter based in Oxfordshire, working primarily in acrylic. My paintings explore quiet, intimate moments of everyday life, with a particular interest in light, memory, childhood and the emotional significance of ordinary spaces. I have always been drawn to light: the way it enters a room, falls across a face or transforms an otherwise familiar scene. For me, this fascination is closely connected to my faith. Light has become a visual language through which I explore ideas of hope, presence, love and the sense of something greater beyond what we can see. I often find the spiritual in the ordinary, and painting allows me to pause and pay attention to these moments. My background in psychology has also influenced my interest in memory and the inner lives of my subjects. Much of my work begins with personal photographs and moments from family life, particularly the fleeting experience of watching my son grow. My work has been exhibited at Mall Galleries in London and selected for exhibitions including the Royal British Artists Rising Stars Exhibition, the Society of Women Artists Annual Exhibition and for ING Discerning Eye.
