I am Angelo Asaro, an artist based in London. My practice explores the philosophical, and existential dimensions of human experience through painting, addressing themes such as identity, memory, time, alienation, fragility, and the relationship between the individual and society.
My works maintain a figurative foundation while introducing symbolic elements and impossible alterations that challenge ordinary perception. These interventions are not decorative but form a visual language through which inner states, ideas, and existential questions become visible.
I define my artistic language as Noetic Surrealism, an approach in which surrealism emerges from consciousness rather than dreams or the unconscious. Each painting is conceived as a structured architecture of meaning, where figures, symbols, and spatial relationships contribute to the creation of an alternative reality shaped by thought.
My background in engineering has influenced my artistic process, fostering attention to structure, compositional coherence, and conceptual clarity. Rationality and imagination coexist within my work, creating a balance between formal precision and symbolic depth.
Through Noetic Surrealism, I regard painting not as a means of expression but as a tool for knowledge and inquiry. It is a space where experience, memory, philosophy, and emotion converge, revealing dimensions of existence that often remain unseen or overlooked.
